Tiracol Fort
For those going to have a great time in Goa, certain locations are missed as they are located a little far from Panaji. If you are coming to have a relaxing time in Goa, then make a plan to visit Arambol beach and then to Fort Tiracol.
Take a scooter from Arambole or you can hire a private vehicle. But private vehicle are too costly. The scooter charges is minimal and it is just Rs. 300 per day. You have to pay for the petrol on your own.

How to reach
Fort Tiracol also knows as Fort Terekhol, is located at a distance of 14km from Arambol beach.You can reach to Arambol by taking a state bus from Panaji. And the fair is amazingly cheap, it is just Rs. 15. First you have to come to Mapusa which will take around 45 minutes and from there change another bus for Arambol. Location
Now start for the Tiracol Fort.The fort is located at the northern tip of the Tiracol River. You can take a ferry from Querim and it will take more than two hours.
The road from Arambole to Tiracol fort is beautiful as the road passes through a dense forest.
Sometimes you feel that you are heading for an unknown place. But don’t worry, keep going amidst the forest. After a drive of half an hour you will reach to your desired location.
History
Tiracol fort has now become a heritage hotel. It was constructed by a Raja of Sawantwadi in 17th century. It was later taken over by the Portuguese and a beautiful church was erected later. In 1961 the Fort was officially handed over to the Indian Government by the Portuguese.

The church is not opened for general public as it is opened for specific occasions.

Food
The stay is costly but you will definitely enjoy the hospitality. If somebody is planning to spend a quality time with their beloved one , the price would not be disappointing. The restaurant outside the fort is really beautiful as it is an open restaurant. One can have food at the restaurant located on the roof as well.

You can come here for lunch and breakfast too. With soothing music, cool breezes from the Arabian sea and lush green environment you can enjoy the food, which I must say is really amazing.
